“What kind of music do you play?”
Everybody asks musicians that.
It’s a perfectly good question, though for years I never knew quite how to answer it.
Folks often seem to have really specific tastes in what they want to hear from a ‘live’ band, and when I’d say “I play Blues”, the reply might be “Oh….I hate Blues!!” So I had automatically alienated a potential audience member right off the bat.
The thing is………….we don’t just “play Blues”.
We don’t ‘just’ play anything.
TIN FOIL HAT plays damn near everything. Well, everything with a killer groove and a bright shiny heart.
Soul Music, R&B, Country, Jazz, Blues and even ‘Classic Rock’.
(By the way, when does Rock become ‘classic’? On it’s fifteenth birthday?)
